This Girls’s Historical past Month, Scott Conary from Carrboro Coffee Roasters in North Carolina and Caffeine Crawl and The LAB’s Jason Burton have teamed as much as amplify a espresso from a longtime producer partnership. The Lady Behind It All​


The collab facilities on Nancy Hernandez Contreras, the owner-operator of Finca El Jazmin within the Marcala area of Honduras. Nancy’s relationship with Carrboro dates again to 2007, when Nancy, as a member of all-women coffee-growing co-op COMUCAP, was chosen to go to Carrboro. After a 10-day crash course in roasting, brewing, and retail, Nancy opened a specialty-coffee store in Marcala. Now, she and her household run a profitable espresso farm and 5 cafés in Marcala. Nancy’s daughter Anjelica has additionally visited Carrboro, carrying on the household custom of ladies in espresso. Carrboro has been sourcing coffees from Finca El Jazmin since 2017.

The Espresso Collaboration​


The coffee is a mix of washed Catuai and Bourbon varieties, with balanced floral and fruit notes and a honey sweetness. An optionally available poster depicts Nancy in a cyan, yellow, and magenta offset printing approach, reflecting the multi-layer achievements of Nancy and girls like her within the coffee-growing world.

Jason says of the design, “I needed the artwork to actually characterize the real, approachable aspect of Nancy as a producer, but additionally the intense energy in her, and … ladies achieve this rather more than they get credit score for. A Longtime Friendship​


That is the primary espresso collab between Caffeine Crawl and Carrboro Espresso Roasters, however not their first time working collectively.
